حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كَعْبٍ الطَّائِفِيَّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ كَرْدَمٍ، أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ رَدِيفَ أَبِيهَا فَسَمِعَتْ أَبَاهَا: يَسْأَلُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ لَأَنْحَرَنَّ بِبُوَانَةَ، فَقَالَ: «هَلْ بِهَا وَثَنٌ أَوْ طَاغِيَةٌ تُعْبَدُ؟» ، قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: «أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ»
Sayyidah Maymunah bint Kardam (may Allah be pleased with her) was riding behind her father (Kardam bin Sufyan al-Thaqafi, may Allah be pleased with him), and she heard her father asking the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I vowed that I would offer a sacrifice at Buwanah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is there an idol there, or a false deity that is worshipped?" He said: No. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then fulfil your vow."
