Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16056 — he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عِيَاضُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ غُفِرَ لَهُ سَنَةٌ أَمَامَهُ وَسَنَةٌ خَلْفَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qatadah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever fasts the Day of Arafah, the sins of a year ahead of him and a year behind him are forgiven for him."
