حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، أَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ حُمَيْضَةَ بْنِ الشَّمَرْدَلِ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، أَو الْحَارِثِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ قَالَ: أَسْلَمْتُ وَعِنْدِي ثَمَانِ نِسْوَةٍ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اخْتَرْ مِنْهُنَّ أَرْبَعًا»
Sayyiduna Qays bin al-Harith al-Asadi (may Allah be pleased with him) (or: al-Harith bin Qays) said: I accepted Islam while I had eight wives, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Choose four of them."
