حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَلُولٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِي، عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الْجَنْبِيِّ، عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَدْعُو فِي صَلَاتِهِ، فَلَمْ يُمَجِّدْ رَبَّهُ، وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «عَجِلَ هَذَا، إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِتَمْجِيدِ رَبِّهِ وَالثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ لِيُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ لِيَدْعُ بِمَا شَاءَ»
Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a man supplicating in his prayer who neither glorified his Lord nor sent blessings upon his Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This man has been hasty. When one of you prays, let him begin by glorifying his Lord and praising Him, then let him send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then let him supplicate for whatever he wishes."
