Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman bin al-Harith bin Hisham narrated that when it reached Marwan that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was narrating from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wakes up in the morning in a state of janabah, let him not fast that day," he sent my father to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask her. I went with my father to her and he asked her, and she said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would wake up in the morning in a state of janabah, not from a wet dream, and then be fasting in the morning." So he went back to Marwan and told him, and Marwan said: Meet Abu Hurayrah and tell him. He said: He is my neighbour, and I dislike confronting him with something he dislikes. Marwan said: I adjure you to go to him. So he went to him and said: O Abu Hurayrah! I disliked confronting you with something you dislike, but the governor has adjured me. Then he told him, and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Al-Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith to me."
