حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ السَّمَيْدَعِ الْأَنْطَاكِيُّ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ النَّصِيبِيُّ، ثنا ضَمْرَة بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ هَارُونَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَوْنٍ، عَنْ رَجَاءِ بْنِ حَيْوَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، قَالَ: أَصَابَتْنِي جَنَابَةٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، فَأَصْبَحَتُ جُنُبًا، فَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: «أَفْطِرْ» ، قُلْتُ: أَصُومُ يَوْمِي وَأَقْضِي يَوْمًا مَكَانَهُ؟ قَالَ: «لَا، أَفْطِرْ» . فَأَتَيْتُ مَرْوَانَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ وَهُوَ أَمِيرٌ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ، فَبَعَثَ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصْبِحُ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ، فَيَمْضِي عَلَى صِيَامِهِ» . فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَلَى مَرْوَانَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِقَوْلِ عَائِشَةَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ مَرْوَانُ: عَزَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ أَلَا لَقِيتَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتَهُ بِقَوْلِ عَائِشَةَ، فَلَقِيتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِقَوْلِ عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا أَخْبَرَنِي بِهِ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ: فَقُلْتُ لرجاءِ بْنِ حَيْوَةَ: مَنْ حَدَّثَكَ عَنْ يَعْلَى بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ؟ قَالَ: إِيَّايَ حَدَّثَ يَعْلَى بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ "
Ya'la bin Uqbah narrated: I became in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah) in Madinah during the month of Ramadan, and woke up in the morning in that state. Then I came to Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) and told him about it. He said: "Do not fast." I said: Shall I fast today and later make up one day in its place? He said: "No, do not fast." So I came to Marwan bin al-Hakam, who was then the governor of Madinah, and mentioned this to him. He sent Abu Bakr bin Abd al-Rahman bin al-Hakam to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask her. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would wake up in the morning in Ramadan in a state of janabah, not from a wet dream, and then continue his fast." So Abu Bakr came to Marwan and told him what Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had said. Marwan said to him: I adjure you to go to Abu Hurayrah and tell him what Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said. So I met him and told him what Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had said, and he said: "I did not hear this myself from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); al-Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) told it to me." Ibn Awn said: I asked Raja' bin Haywah: Who narrated this hadith to you from Ya'la? He said: Ya'la himself narrated this hadith to me.
