حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ غَدًا رَجُلًا يُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، وَيُحِبُّهُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» فَأَعْطَاهَا عَلِيًّا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tomorrow I will give this banner to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and whom Allah and His Messenger love." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the banner to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
