حَدَّثَنَا أَسْلَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنَا أَبُو الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ، فَلَمَّا انْفَتَلَ قَالَ: «أَيُّكُمْ خَالَجَنِي بِالسُّورَةِ؟» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا أَرَدْتُ إِلَّا الْخَيْرَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «قَدْ ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا خَالَجَنِيهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Zuhr prayer. When he turned away from the prayer, he said: "Which of you contended with me over the surah?" A man said: "I did, O Messenger of Allah, and I intended nothing but good." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I thought that a man was contending with me over it."
