حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ أَبِي صَخْرَةَ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ الْمَازِنِيُّ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ: أَتَى نَفَرٌ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «اقْبَلُوا الْبُشْرَى يَا بَنِي تَمِيمٍ» قَالُوا: قَدْ بَشَّرْتَنَا فَأَعْطِنَا، فَرُئِيَ ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ، فَجَاءَ نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ: «اقْبَلُوا الْبُشْرَى إِذْ لَمْ يَقْبَلْهَا بَنُو تَمِيمٍ» فَقَالُوا: قَدْ قَبْلِنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A delegation of Banu Tamim came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Banu Tamim, accept the glad tidings." They said: "You have given us glad tidings, now give us something as well." This showed on his (peace and blessings be upon him) face. Then a delegation of the people of Yemen came, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Accept the glad tidings, since Banu Tamim did not accept them." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we have accepted."
