حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَعَبِيدَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ حَثْمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَنَا وَعِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ، بِالْبَصْرَةِ فَمَرَّ بِإِنْسَانٍ أَعْمَى يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ يُوسُفَ، فَقُمْنَا نَسْمَعُ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ قِرَاءَتِهِ سَأَلَ، فَاسْتَرْجَعَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: امْضِ بِنَا إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلْيَسْأَلِ اللهَ بِهِ فَإِنَّ بَعْدَكُمْ قَوْمًا يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ بِهِ»
Al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) and I were in Basrah when we passed by a blind man who was reciting Surah Yusuf, so we stood listening. When he finished his recitation, he begged. Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (We belong to Allah and to Him we return)," then said: Come along with us; I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever recites the Qur'an, let him ask Allah by it, for after you there will come people who will recite the Qur'an and ask people by it."
