حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْجَارُودِ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْكَيِّ فَاكْتَوَيْنَا فَلَا أَفْلَحْنَ وَلَا أَنْجَحْنَ»
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had forbidden cauterisation, but we had ourselves cauterised, and we neither succeeded nor prospered.
