حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، ثنا أَبُو هِلَالٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ: «سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَادِيثَ سَمِعْتُهَا وَحَفِظْتُهَا مَا يَمْنَعُنِي أَنْ أَحْدَثَ بِهَا إِلَّا أَصْحَابِي يُخَالِفُونِي فِيهَا»
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and memorised them. The only thing that stops me from narrating them is that my companions differ with me about them.
