حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ قَالَ: " قَدِمْتُ الْبَصْرَةَ فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِشَيْخٍ أَبْيَضَ الرَّأْسِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ مُسْتَنِدٍ إِلَى أُسْطُوَانَةٍ حَوْلَهُ حَلْقَةٌ يُحَدِّثُهُمْ قُلْتُ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا: عِمْرَانُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ "
Hilal bin Yasaf said: I came to Basrah and entered the mosque, and there I saw an elderly man with white hair and a white beard, leaning against a pillar, with a circle of people around him to whom he was narrating hadith. I asked: "Who is this?" People said: "Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him)."
