Sayyiduna Afif bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a delegation from Yemen arrived. They mentioned Imru' al-Qays bin Hujr al-Kindi and recited two verses of his poetry in which a caller at one of the watering places of the Arabs was mentioned. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is a man who is remembered in this world and forgotten in the Hereafter, honoured in this world and obscure in the Hereafter. He will come on the Day of Resurrection with the banner of the poets, leading them to the Fire."
