It is narrated about Mahmud bin al-Rabi' al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to say that he remembered the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when he was five years old, and he claimed that he remembered the mouthful of water that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spat onto his face from a bucket hanging in their house.
Mahmud says: I heard Sayyiduna Itban bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) - who was a man of his tribe and one of those who were present at Badr with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) - narrate that he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: My eyesight has become weak, and when it rains, the flood of the valley that lies between my home and the mosque of my people comes between me and the prayer. So I would like you to come and pray in my house so that I may take it as a place of prayer. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." Itban says: So the next day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked permission and permission was given to him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where in your house would you like me to pray?" I pointed to a corner of my house, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and said the takbir; we formed a row behind him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed two rak'ahs, then said the salam.
