Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14809 — Umarah bin Sa'd al-Tujibi reported

Umarah bin Sa'd al-Tujibi reported that when the time of death drew near for Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: "O my sons, I forbid you three things, so guard them: do not accept any hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) except from a trustworthy narrator; do not take on debt, even if in hardship you have to wear sackcloth; and do not write poetry by which your hearts become heedless of the Qur'an."
