حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْمَقْدِسِيُّ، ثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ، ثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ صَنِيعًا فِيهِ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ وَقَرَظَةُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، وَجَوَارٍ يُغَنِّينَ، فَقُلْتُ: سُبْحَانَ اللهِ أَتَفْعَلُونَ هَذَا وَأَنْتُمْ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَهْلُ بَدْرٍ؟ فَقَالُوا: «رُخِّصَ لَنَا فِي الْغِنَاءِ فِي الْعُرْسِ، وَالْبُكَاءِ فِي غَيْرِ نِيَاحَةٍ»
Amir bin Sa'd (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I attended a gathering in which Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud and Sayyiduna Qarazah bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with them both) were present, and girls were singing. I said: "Subhan Allah! You do this when you are the Companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and the people of Badr?" They said: "We have been given permission for singing at weddings and for weeping without wailing."
