Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (Abu Mas'ud) (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Shall I not lead you in prayer as I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pray?" We said: "Of course." So he stood and prayed. When he bowed, he placed his palms on his knees, put his fingers behind his knees, and kept his arms away from his sides until every part of him settled; then he raised his head and stood until every part of him settled; then he prostrated and kept his arms away until every part of him settled; then he sat until every part of him settled; then he prostrated and kept his arms away until every part of him settled. In this way he prayed four rak'ahs, then said: "This is how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lead us in prayer."
