Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14536 — Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab sent

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Asim bin Sufyan al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) sent for him so that he would help him in some work of collecting the sadaqah, but he refused to do this work and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Resurrection, a command will be given concerning the ruler, and he will be made to stand on the bridge over Hell. Then the bridge will be commanded, and it will shake with such a jolt that every bone of his will be displaced from its place. Then Allah will command the bones and they will return to their places. Then he will be questioned: if he was obedient to Allah, he will be pulled up and given a double reward; and if he was disobedient to Allah, the bridge will throw him off and he will keep falling into Hell for seventy years."
