عاصم بن ثابت بن أبي الأفلح ويقال: ابن الأفلح الأنصاري حمى الدبر، بدري، قتل على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
Asim bin Thabit bin Abi al-Aflah (may Allah be pleased with him), also called Ibn al-Aflah al-Ansari, known as the one protected by the bees, a participant in Badr, martyred in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَسِيدِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ الثَّقَفِيِّ، حَلِيفِ بَنِي زُهْرَةَ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: «بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَشَرَةَ رَهْطٍ عَيْنًا، وَأَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَاصِمَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ جَدَّ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو» ذَكَرَهُ بِطُولِهِ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a party of ten men on a scouting mission, and appointed Sayyiduna Asim bin Thabit al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) as their commander, who was the grandfather of Asim bin Amr. (The narrator) related the incident in full.
