Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! My land is a land of game. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you send your trained dog and mention the name, then eat whatever the dog holds back for you; and if it kills and eats of it, then do not eat, for it only held it back for itself. And when you send your dog, mention the name, and then other dogs over which you did not mention the name join it, then do not eat, for you do not know which of them killed it." I said: O Messenger of Allah! I shoot at game and it stays out of my sight all night (what should I do?) He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you find your arrow in it and find no other mark on it, then eat it."
