Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! We have dogs with which we hunt. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Look at these hunting animals and teach them of what Allah has taught you, then eat of what they hold back for you. If it kills and does not eat, then eat; and if it eats (of it) itself, then do not eat." I said: If my dogs are joined by other dogs, in your view may I eat of it? So he (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from it.
