Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14146 — A man from the Ansar called Amr bin

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: A man from the Ansar called Amr bin Hannah, who used to perform ruqyah for snakebite, came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, you have forbidden ruqyah, and I perform ruqyah for snakebite. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite it (the words of the ruqyah) to me." I recited them to him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no harm in this; these are (Allah's) covenants and pledges." The narrator said: Then another man from the Ansar came who used to perform ruqyah for scorpion stings, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever among you is able to benefit his brother, let him do so."
