حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَقْطَعَ الزُّبَيْرَ حَضَرَ فَرَسِهِ بِأَرْضٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا ثَرِيرَةٌ فَأَجْرَى فَرَسَهُ حَتَّى قَامَ، ثُمَّ رَمَى سَوْطَهُ فَقَالَ: «أَعْطُوهُ حَيْثُ بَلَغَ سَوْطُهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) land in a place called Tharirah, as far as his horse could run. So he made his horse run until it stopped, then he threw his whip ahead, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give him land up to where his whip reached."
