حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ مُطِيعٍ الْغَزَّالِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْبَهْرَانِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: «كَانَ يُنْبَذُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فِي سِقَاءٍ فَيَشْرَبُهُ الْغَدَ وَلَيْلَتَهُ، وَالْغَدَ وَلَيْلَتَهُ، فَإِذَا كَانَ الثَّالِثُ أَمَرَ فَأُهْرِيقَ، أَوْ سَقَاهُ الْخَدَمَ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Nabidh would be steeped for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a waterskin, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would drink it the next day and its night, then the next day and its night; then when it was the third day, he would order that it be poured away or given to the servants to drink.
