Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12291 — Sayyiduna al-Sa'b bin Jaththamah
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: أَهْدَى الصَّعْبُ بْنُ جَثَّامَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَجُزَ حِمَارٍ يَقْطُرُ دَمًا، فَرَدَّهُ، وَقَالَ: «إِنَّا حُرُمٌ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that Sayyiduna al-Sa'b bin Jaththamah (may Allah be pleased with him) presented the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with the hindquarter of a wild ass, dripping blood, as a gift. He (peace and blessings be upon him) returned it and said: "We are in the state of ihram."
