حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ الصَّعْبَ بْنَ جَثَّامَةَ أَهْدَى إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَهُوَ بِقُدَيْدٍ عَجُزَ حِمَارٍ، فَرَدَّهُ يَقْطُرُ دَمًا»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that Sayyiduna al-Sa'b bin Jaththamah (may Allah be pleased with him) presented the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was at Qudayd, with the hindquarter of a wild ass as a gift, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) returned it while it was dripping blood.
