Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12066 — When the Prophet ﷺ halted at Ta'if, he
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الطَّائِفَ أَمَرَ مُنَادِيًا فَنَادَى «أَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ خَرَجَ فَهُوَ حُرٌّ» فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدَانِ فَأَعْتَقَهُمَا
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) halted at Ta'if, he ordered a caller to announce: "Any slave who comes out is free." So two slaves came out to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) set them free.
