Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12007 — The Prophet ﷺ appointed Arqam bin Abi

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Arqam bin Abi al-Arqam al-Zuhri (may Allah be pleased with him) to collect the charity (sadaqah), and he took Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) along with him. So he (Abu Rafi') came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Rafi', charity is forbidden for Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and the freed slave of a people is counted as one of them."
