حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، وَزَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «طَافَ سَبْعًا فَطَافَ سَعْيًا لِأَنَّهُ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُري النَّاسَ قُوَّتَهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made seven circuits, and he made the circuits at a running pace (briskly), because he wanted to show the people his strength.
