Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1172 — Among those of the Ansar who pledged

Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Among those of the Ansar who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-Aqabah, then from Banu Salimah bin Yazid bin Jusham, was al-Bara' bin Ma'rur bin Sakhr bin Khansa'. He was a naqib (chief), and he was the first person to bequeath a third of his wealth, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) approved it."
