Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1173 — Among those of the Ansar who were present

Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Among those of the Ansar who were present at al-Aqabah, then from Banu Salamah, was al-Bara' bin Ma'rur. He was the first person to bequeath a third of his wealth, and to face the Ka'bah while he was in his own land, and he was a naqib (chief).
