حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ السِّمْطِ، ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَأَنْ يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ بَعْدَ أَرْبَعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ وَمِائَةٍ جَرْوَ كَلْبٍ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يُرَبِّيَ وَلَدًا لِصُلْبِهِ»
Salih bin Ali al-Hashimi narrates from his father, from his grandfather, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "For one of you to raise a puppy after one hundred and fifty-four (154) would be better for him than raising a child of his own loins."
