حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ هَاشِمٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: عُرِضَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا هُوَ مَفْتُوحٌ عَلَى أُمَّتِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ كَفْرًا كَفْرًا، فَسُرَّ بِذَلِكَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَى} [الضحى: ٥] ، فَأَعْطَاهُ اللهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَلْفَ قَصْرٍ، فِي كُلِّ قَصْرٍ مَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ مِنَ الْوِلْدَانِ وَالْخَدَمِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the towns that were to be conquered for his (peace and blessings be upon him) Ummah after him (peace and blessings be upon him), town by town, were shown to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was pleased by that. So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed this verse: "And your Lord is going to give you (so much) that you will be satisfied" [Surah al-Duha: 5]. And Allah Almighty gave him (peace and blessings be upon him) a thousand palaces in Paradise, and in every palace as many servants and youths (attendants) as befitted his (peace and blessings be upon him) dignity.
