حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْقَرْمَطِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الطَّلْحِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: «أُهْدِيَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْنَبًا وَعَائِشَةُ نَائِمَةٌ، فَرَفَعَ لَهَا مِنْهَا الْعَجُزَ، فَلَمَّا انْتَبَهَتْ أَعْطَاهَا إِيَّاهُ فَأَكَلَتْهُ»
Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunayf said: I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) say: "A rabbit was given as a gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was asleep. He (peace and blessings be upon him) set aside its hindquarters for her, and when she woke up he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave it to her, and she ate it."
