حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا الْفَيْضُ بْنُ وَثِيقٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ وَاصِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ خَلِيلًا، وَلَكِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ خَلِيلُ اللهِ»
«وَأُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ، وَلِكُلِّ آيَةٍ مِنْهَا ظَهْرٌ وَبَطْنٌ»
«وَأُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَحْرُفٍ، وَلِكُلِّ آيَةٍ مِنْهَا ظَهْرٌ وَبَطْنٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I were to take anyone as a khalil, I would take Abu Bakr; but your companion is the khalil of Allah."
