وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: «أَعْتَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ سَبْعَةً مِمَّنْ كَانَ يُعَذَّبُ فِي اللهِ، مِنْهُمْ بِلَالٌ، وَعَامِرُ بْنُ فُهَيْرَةَ»
Urwah said: Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) freed seven people who were being tortured for the sake of Allah's religion; among them were Bilal and Amir bin Fuhayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both).
