It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I came to visit the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and saw that revelation was descending upon him (peace and blessings be upon him). Then, when the intensity and weight of the revelation had passed, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Hand me my cloak." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) went out and entered the mosque. There were some people present there, and apart from them there was no one else in the mosque. He (peace and blessings be upon him) sat down in a corner among those people, until, when the one giving the admonition had completed his talk, he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah al-Sajdah: "The revelation of the Book, about which there is no doubt, is from the Lord of the worlds" [Surah al-Sajdah: 2]. Then the people could find no room in the mosque (because of the crowd and how moved they were). Then Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) sent a message to her family: "Come into the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), for I have seen in him (peace and blessings be upon him) a state and a matter that I had never seen before." The narrator states that then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed head (after a long prostration), and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! You have made the prostration very long." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I prostrated before my Lord to give thanks for the blessing He has granted me concerning my Ummah: that seventy thousand of them will enter Paradise (without reckoning)." At this Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Your Ummah is far more numerous than that, and purer, so ask for still more for them," until he said this two or three times. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah! May my father be sacrificed for you, your Ummah has worn you out (that is, you have already striven and supplicated a great deal for them)."
Imam Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah recorded this hadith in al-Musannaf; its chain contains a narrator named Abdullah bin Atik, whom the hadith scholars have criticised; however, the basic point of seventy thousand people entering Paradise without reckoning is established by the reliable narrations of the two Sahihs.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will be seventy thousand people of my Ummah who will enter Paradise without any reckoning." Hearing this, Sayyiduna Ukkashah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Prophet of Allah! Supplicate to Allah Almighty to include me too among these fortunate ones. He (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: 'Allahumma ij'alhu minhum' (O Allah, include him among them). Then another man stood up and said: Supplicate to Allah Almighty to include me among them too. He (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for him as well: 'Allahumma ij'alhu minhum' (O Allah, include him among them). After this the people present remained silent for a while and then began talking among themselves; some of them said: If only we too had said: O Messenger of Allah! Supplicate to Allah to include us among them as well. At this he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ukkashah and his companion have gone ahead of you. The truth is that had you said it (in time), I would certainly have supplicated, and had I supplicated, it (acceptance) would have become binding."
In the chain of this narration, Muhammad bin Abi Layla is open to criticism because of his memory; however, the basic virtue of seventy thousand people entering Paradise without reckoning is established and authentic in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim through various chains.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seventy thousand people of my Ummah will enter Paradise (without reckoning)." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! Increase this number for us. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "With every one of them, another seventy thousand (will enter Paradise)." The Companions pleaded again: O Messenger of Allah! Increase it further for us. At that time he (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting on a mound of sand, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) scooped up a handful (of sand) with one hand (and let it fall, indicating a great number). The Companions said again: O Messenger of Allah! Grant us more. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This much more," and then indicated by scooping up (sand) with both his hands. Then the Companions said: O Prophet of Allah! Whoever enters Hell even after this (such vast mercy and forgiveness of so great a number): "May Allah keep far (from His mercy) whoever enters the Fire after this" (that is, he will be utterly deprived and wretched).
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad, and all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Unaysah bint Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah have mercy on her) narrates from her father (Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him)) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to visit him while he was suffering from an illness, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said, comforting him: "'Laysa 'alayka min maradika hadha ba's' (There is nothing to worry or fear about in this illness of yours), but how will you be when you live a long life after me and then lose your sight?" He said: "In that case I will hope for reward from Allah Almighty and be patient." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then you will enter Paradise without reckoning." The narrator states that after the passing of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) he did indeed become blind; then Allah Almighty restored his sight to him, and after that he died.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this hadith in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; Allamah al-Haythami declared its narrators thiqat (trustworthy) in Majma' al-Zawa'id, and its basis is also found in Sahih al-Bukhari.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (the narrator of the hadith, Zuhayr, had a doubt about its wording or its being marfu'): "Whoever of the people of the world dies, whether he died in childhood or in old age, all of them will be returned (on the Day of Resurrection) to the age of sixty years; in Paradise they will never grow beyond this age, and the state of the people of Hell will likewise be the same."
The chain of this hadith contains narrators such as Ibn Lahi'ah and Darraj bin Sam'an, because of whose weakness this narration is regarded as weak by the scholars; moreover, in reliable and authentic hadith the age of the people of Paradise is stated as thirty-three years.

Abu Yahya al-Kala'i relates: I came to Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) in the mosque and said: O Abu Yazid! People claim that you did not see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said (in surprise and astonishment): "Subhan Allah! By Allah, I certainly saw him (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time I was walking with my paternal uncle, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of this ear of mine (affectionately) and asked my uncle: 'Do you think this (child, when he grows up) will remember his mother or his father?'" We said to him: Narrate to us a hadith that you yourself heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whether it is a miscarried child (that falls before full term) or an extremely frail old man, all will be raised (on the Day of Resurrection) in the form of young people aged thirty-three years. They will have the (tall) build of Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him), beauty like that of Sayyiduna Yusuf (peace be upon him), and a (patient and grateful) heart like that of Sayyiduna Ayyub (peace be upon him); their bodies will be (naturally) free of hair and their eyes darkened as if with kohl." I asked: Then what will be the case of the disbeliever? He said: "The body of the disbeliever will be made so huge for the Fire of Hell that (the thickness of) his skin will become forty cubits, and each one of his molar teeth will become (as large) as Mount Uhud."
Musnad Abi Ya'la: 4626. Its chain contains Yazid bin Sinan al-Ruhawi, a weak narrator; however, some parts of this hadith are established by other authentic supporting reports.
