قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ ، ثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ قَرَأَ الْمُعَوِّذَاتِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَرَأَ جَمِيعَ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites the Mu'awwidhat (that is, the surahs of seeking refuge), it is as if he has recited all the speech and revelation that Allah Almighty sent down upon Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Imam Ahmad bin Mani' transmitted this report through Yusuf bin Atiyyah, and because of the presence of the narrator Yusuf bin Atiyyah in its chain, this hadith is technically weak.

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، ثَنَا مُغَلِّسٌ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَسَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - ، قَالَ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَرَأَ فِي الصُّبْحِ : قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : الْفَلَقُ جَهَنَّمُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak" [Surah al-Falaq: 1] and "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind" [Surah al-Nas: 1] in the Fajr prayer, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Al-Falaq is Hell."

حَدَّثَنَا الْأَزْرَقُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، ثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - يَحُكُّ الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُصْحَفِ ، وَيَقُولُ : أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُتَعَوَّذَ بِهِمَا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ عَبْدُ اللهِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - يَقْرَؤُهُمَا .
It is narrated from Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to scrape the Mu'awwidhatayn (Surah al-Falaq and Surah al-Nas) out of his mushaf (his copy of the Noble Qur'an), and he used to say: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded that refuge with Allah be sought through these two surahs", and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) did not recite these two (as surahs in his mushaf).
