It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites 'Ya Sin' [Surah Ya Sin: 1] on any night will reach the morning having been forgiven and pardoned."
In the chain of this hadith narrated by Abu Ya'la (may Allah have mercy on him), Hisham bin Ziyad is a matruk (abandoned) narrator; however, there are other corroborating reports regarding the virtue of Surah Ya Sin.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites Surah Ya Sin seeking the pleasure and good will of Allah Almighty will be forgiven. Whoever recites Surah Ya Sin, it is as if he receives the reward of reciting the Noble Qur'an twelve times. And whoever recites Surah Ya Sin while in the throes of death and the agonies of dying, Ridwan, the angel who is the keeper of Paradise, will come with a drink from the drinks of Paradise and give it to him to drink on his very bed, until he dies with his thirst quenched, and on the Day of Resurrection he will also be raised from the grave with his thirst quenched."
Ahmad bin Mani' transmitted this report in his Musnad. In its chain is the narrator named Yusuf bin Atiyyah al-Saffar al-Basri, who according to the imams of hadith is matruk (abandoned) and extremely weak; therefore this report is weak in its chain and cannot be used as proof.

It is narrated from Abu Malik that Ubayy bin Khalaf came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a rotten, decayed bone and crumbled it with his hands in front of him (peace and blessings be upon him), then said: "O Muhammad! Will Allah bring this bone back to life after it has completely decayed?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! Allah will raise this too, then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you back to life, and then He will admit you into Hell." The narrator said: On this occasion the last verses of Surah Ya Sin were revealed: "Does man not consider that We created him from a sperm-drop, and then at once he is a clear adversary" [Surah Ya Sin: 77], up to the end of the surah.
The chain of this hadith is hasan (good), and al-Harith narrated it in his Musnad.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Ali! Recite Surah Ya Sin, for in the recitation of Surah Ya Sin ten kinds of blessings are hidden: no hungry person recites it but he is filled; no thirsty person recites it but his thirst is quenched; no person without clothing recites it but he is given clothing; no unmarried person recites it but Allah Almighty arranges his marriage; no frightened person recites it but he is granted safety and security; no prisoner recites it but he is released from captivity; no traveller recites it but he is given unseen help in his journey; no person who has lost something recites it but he finds his lost item again; no sick person recites it but he is granted health and cure; and it is not recited near a person whose time of death is near but Allah Almighty lightens his distress."
In terms of its chain, this report is extremely weak, indeed mawdu' (fabricated). Its chain contains narrators such as Hammad bin Amr and al-Sari bin Khalid, who were known for fabricating hadith; on this basis Ibn al-Jawzi and other imams of narrator criticism declared it unreliable and false.
