It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "La'amruka" [Surah al-Hijr: 72], that, explaining it, he said that its meaning is "wa hayatika", that is, "By your life."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated this report in his Musnad.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has not created any soul, nor brought into being any living being, more honoured and esteemed in His sight than Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). And I have never heard that Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, swore by the life of anyone other than his (peace and blessings be upon him) blessed life. So Allah, the Lord of Might, said: "By your life (O beloved, peace and blessings be upon him)! Indeed, they were wandering blindly in their intoxication" [Surah al-Hijr: 72]."
Imam al-Harith bin Abi Usamah transmitted this narration in his Musnad through Abd al-Aziz bin Aban, who is a weak and matruk (abandoned) narrator; however, this meaning is well known among the imams of tafsir and established by authentic supporting evidence.
