وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْبَكْرِيُّ ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، فِي قَوْلِهِ : لَعَمْرُكَ قَالَ : وَحَيَاتُكَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "La'amruka" [Surah al-Hijr: 72], that, explaining it, he said that its meaning is "wa hayatika", that is, "By your life."
