It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever leads a blind person (one deprived of sight) for a distance of forty or fifty cubits, the reward of freeing a slave is written in his record of deeds."
The chain of this narration contains a narrator named Yusuf bin Atiyyah, who is weak and matruk (abandoned); for this reason, by the technical standards of hadith scholarship, this hadith is da'if (weak) in its chain.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), as a marfu' report, that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever leads a blind person for forty steps (or shows him the way), Paradise becomes obligatory for him."
I (Ibn Hajar) say: These two hadiths are extremely weak and very feeble, and no narration on this subject is established.
