بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ إظهار النعمة إِذَا لَمْ يكن سرف أَوْ مخيلة

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَسْلَمَ الْمِنْقَرِيِّ ، عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ ، قَالَ : رَأَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا سَيِّئَ الْهَيْئَةِ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَكَ مَالٌ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ مِنْ أَنْوَاعِ الْمَالِ . قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَلْيُرَ أَثَرُهُ عَلَيْكَ ; فَإِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرَى أَثَرَ النِّعْمَةِ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ وَيَكْرَهُ الْبُؤْسَ وَالتَّبَاؤُسَ " .
Imam al-Harith (may Allah have mercy on him) says that it is narrated from Zuhayr bin Abi Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man in a shabby state (a distressing appearance) and asked him: "Do you have wealth?" The man replied: "Yes! I have wealth of many kinds." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then its (the wealth's) effect should be visible on you, for Allah Almighty loves to see the effect of His blessing on His servant, and He dislikes shabbiness and deliberately making oneself look shabby."
قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، ثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : " قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ اللهَ جَمِيلٌ يُحِبُّ الْجَمَالَ ، يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرَى [أَثَرَ] نِعْمَتِهِ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ .
Imam Abu Ya'la (may Allah have mercy on him) says: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) that "the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty is most beautiful and loves beauty, and He loves to see the effect of His blessing on His servant."
