It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) that: I set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the blessed journey of the Farewell Hajj, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) took his other pure wives (may Allah be pleased with them) along too. My baggage was light and my camel was swift, whereas the baggage of Sayyidah Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) was heavy and her camel was slow, because of which the whole caravan would halt waiting for her. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered: "Load Aishah's baggage onto Safiyyah's camel and move Safiyyah's baggage onto Aishah's camel, so that the caravan can move on with ease." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: When I saw this situation I cried out: 'Ya la-ma'adh Allah' (I seek refuge in Allah!) This Jewish woman has prevailed over the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! At this the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) explained kindly: "O Umm Abdullah! Your baggage was light and Safiyyah's load was heavy, which slowed down the caravan, so we moved her baggage onto your camel and yours onto her camel, so that the journey would not be held up." I said (under the influence of a wife's jealousy): Do you not claim that you are the Messenger of Allah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled on hearing this and said: "O Umm Abdullah! Do you have some doubt about me?" I said again: Do you not claim that you are the Messenger of Allah? Then why did you not act justly? When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) heard this conversation, and there was fierceness and sharpness in his temperament, he came forward and slapped my face. At this the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Bakr! Stop and show restraint." He said: O Messenger of Allah! Did you not hear what she is saying? So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said with perfect wisdom: "Indeed, a woman overcome by jealousy cannot tell the top of the valley from its bottom (i.e. she loses her composure and does not realise what she is saying)."
The scholars of hadith infer from this incident that a woman is not taken to task for such words uttered in a state of extreme jealousy that would be harsh in normal circumstances, because at that time her emotions overpower her reason; and the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) overlooking it is the finest example of his (peace and blessings be upon him) lofty character and of his regard for the emotional side of his wives.

Imam Abu Ya'la narrated that Sayyidah Maymunah bint Abi Asib (may Allah be pleased with her) relates that a woman from the region called Jurash came riding a camel into the blessed presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and called out: O Aishah! Obtain for me from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) some supplication that will give me calm, or by which he will grant me contentment! So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to this woman: "Place your right hand on your heart, rub it, and say: 'Bismillah, Allahumma dawini bi-dawa'ika, washfini bi-shifa'ika, wa aghnini bi-ghinaka wa bi-fadlika amman siwaka, wahdur anni adhaka' (In the name of Allah; O Allah, treat me with Your own remedy, grant me health with Your healing, make me free of need of everyone besides You through Your richness and Your bounty, and remove this affliction from me)."
Rabi'ah says: I myself made this supplication and found it very swift in effect and excellent. The narrator states: I think that Rabi'ah also mentioned in this hadith that the woman was in severe distress because of a state of jealousy and envy.
