Ubaydullah bin Abi Yazid narrates from his father that when Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Makkah, he was informed that a freed slave of Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) had "jallalah" camels, which eat filth and impurities. So he (may Allah be pleased with him) had them summoned and sent them out of Makkah, and said that these camels may be used to carry firewood and to transport water; but Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a decisive order that neither Hajj nor Umrah should be performed riding on them.
The chain of this narration is sahih (authentic), and it is the saying of a Companion (mawquf).
