The time of Friday prayer

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him): "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the Friday prayer when the sun had declined (from its zenith)."
Al-Harith bin Abi Usamah recorded it in his Musnad; its chain contains the narrator Muhammad bin Umar al-Waqidi, who is da'if (weak) according to the majority of hadith scholars. However, the basic meaning of the hadith, that he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the Friday prayer right after the sun declined, is established by several other sahih and reliable hadith.

It is narrated from al-Hakam bin Utaybah that a man delayed the prayer on Friday, so an elderly man said to him (as a warning): "By Allah! I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pray, and I never saw him (peace and blessings be upon him) do as you are (now) doing!" The narrator said: When I saw that he had mentioned the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I asked him: "How did you see him act?" He replied: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) come out (for the prayer) when the sun had declined." And that elderly man was Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he went to the Friday prayer; then, when the sun had declined, Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came out before the people and sat on the pulpit. The muezzin then began giving the call to prayer (adhan), and when he finished it and fell silent, he (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and praised and extolled Allah Almighty.
This chain is sahih (authentic).

Mus'ab bin Sa'd (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father: "Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) used to take his midday rest (qaylulah) after finishing the Friday prayer."
This hadith is sahih (authentic).

It is narrated from Sayyidah Unaysah (may Allah be pleased with her), who had the honour of performing Hajj with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that she said: "Our men used to perform the Friday prayer with Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him); then they would return from there with their cloaks spread over their heads (to protect themselves from the heat of the sun). They would look for the shade of the walls (on the way back) and walk along it, and those people would take their midday rest, qaylulah, only after it (the Friday prayer)."
Its chain is sahih (authentic).
