Sprinkling water after wudu

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came into the noble presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: "What is performing ablution thoroughly (isbagh)?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent at that time until the time of prayer came. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) called for water and showed the complete method of ablution (by doing it in practice). The narrator relates: Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) sprinkled water beneath his garment (near the private parts) and said: "This is performing ablution thoroughly and completely."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this hadith in his Musnad. The narrator in its chain, Abu Ma'shar Najih bin Abd al-Rahman al-Sindi, is da'if (weak) due to the weakness of his memory; however, the basis of sprinkling water near the private parts after ablution is established by other sahih hadith.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "When one of you performs ablution, let him take a handful of water and sprinkle it on (the area of) his private parts. Then if he feels any trace (of wetness after ablution), let him say: 'Inna dhalika minhu' (Indeed, this is from that (water which I sprinkled))."
Imam Musaddad narrated this report (athar) in his Musnad, and its chain is sahih (authentic).
