قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ كَرِهَهُ ، يَعْنِي الْمَسْحَ عَلَى الْوَجْهِ بِالْمِنْدِيلِ .
صَحِيحٌ مَوْقُوفٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): "He disliked it, that is, drying the wetness of the face after ablution or ritual bath (ghusl) by wiping it with a handkerchief or cloth."
This narration is sahih (authentic) and mawquf (that is, it is attributed to the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)).
