الْحَارِثُ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ ، ثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَا تَتَقَدَّمُ فَتَزِيدَ يَوْمًا أَوْ يَوْمَيْنِ ؟ فَغَضِبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the people said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Will you (peace and blessings be upon him) not fast beforehand (before the month of Ramadan) and add a day or two?" On hearing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became angry.
